Recently we had a ¾ size electric guitar donated to us by a generous customer. It’s the right size for someone approximately 7 to 15 years old. We wanted to get this instrument into the hands of a young person who really wanted and needed it but couldn’t get one through usual procedures. After some consideration, and after subjecting the guitar to a thorough reconditioning by our qualified technician, we decided we’d run a contest and give the guitar away to the most worthy recipient.
Here’s how it works: We want to receive submissions, either by the aspiring guitar player (preferred) or by someone who knows of such a person. Write us a compelling story about why your choice should be the lucky recipient. Submissions can be made through email. Of course the better the story and the more deserving your recommendation is, the greater the chance of a win. Include photos and examples when possible to support your case. The player judged most deserving will be featured here and in our newsletter.
Have you seen our new mascot? The Family Music guitar man has been seen in the Natal Day parade, the Parade of Lights, outside our stores waving at traffic, and at other special events in Metro. But we have a problem: he doesn’t have a proper name. Help us—and his identity crisis—out with a descriptive and interesting name. We are currently accepting suggestions, and the lucky winner will win a Family Music gift certificate valid for instruments, service, accessories, or lessons. Submissions can be made through email.
This has been our most successful contest yet with hundreds of people who entered. Alicia took home this stool just in time for Christmas.
Congratulations to Rod who won our draw for a Crate Axebox.
Liam won our first draw for a Crate swivel bar stool.
For the guitarist who has everything, these unique wall-mounting guitar hangers stand out from the crowd and let you customize your guitar collection. They come in a few styles and colours, including green alien claw, black pearl, and red rum pictured below.
